Not to mention that the fiber in the potato would keep you content, or at least for a little while.

Refined sugar-heavy diets are likely to be deficient in the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients required to maintain good health. After that, what do you suppose would happen if you stopped consuming refined sugar altogether?

According to science, there are several health benefits. Here are 8:

1. A decrease in cholesterol
